A native of Kentucky and a graduate of the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Sullivan embodies a lifelong dedication to leadership and innovation in medicine. After medical school, he completed a rigorous orthopedic surgery residency at Michigan State University’s Garden City Hospital. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in adult reconstruction and trauma at the University of Minnesota/Regions Hospital.
Now practicing at South Carolina Sports Medicine & Orthopedics in North Charleston, SC, Dr. Sullivan brings with him a passion for evidence-based, patient-centered care. He has a strong interest in joint reconstruction, including hip, knee and shoulder replacements, as well as orthopedic trauma surgery. His training emphasizes the use of modern techniques and technologies that improve surgical outcomes and recovery times.

Dr. Sullivan’s leadership experience extends beyond the operating room. He served as Chief Resident during his final year of residency and held multiple positions in national osteopathic medical organizations. Outside of work, Dr. Sullivan has contributed to numerous volunteer initiatives, including youth sports coverage, assisted living outreach, and local health and wellness events. His holistic approach to patient care is rooted in compassion, education, and trust.
